Megan S. Acosta Esq. is a Certified Legal Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust & Probate Law with the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization and focuses her practice on income, estate and gift tax and business succession planning for individuals and closely held businesses, and in the administration of estates and trusts. Ms. Acosta also has extensive experience in the areas of charitable giving and tax exempt organizations. Among her principal clients are high net worth individuals and families, family offices, philanthropists and tax-exempt organizations.

Ms. Acosta’s estate planning experience includes all aspects of income, capital gains and gift and estate tax issues; tax deferral techniques; acquisition, sale and liquidity planning; asset freeze techniques; family office planning; insurance planning; trust tax planning as well as probate and trust administration matters. Many of her clients engage in estate planning techniques such as family limited liability companies, grantor retained annuity trusts, intra family loans, gifting plans, sales to grantor trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, charitable remainder trusts and family foundations.

Ms. Acosta experience also includes advising a variety of Section 501(c)(3) public charities and private foundations on issues including entity formation, tax exemption applications, operations in foreign countries and international grant-making, federal tax law compliance and charitable solicitations.

Prior to opening her office, Ms. Acosta practiced estate planning at the Orange County offices of two leading international law firms, Paul Hastings LLP and Bryan Cave LLP.

Ms. Acosta, born and raised in Orange County, currently resides in Newport Beach with her husband and two daughters.
